Willy Kersten – Principal

Principal of Rathkeale College since 2008. Formerly Associate Rector of Palmerston North Boys’ High School. Teaching background in Science and Chemistry and a recipient of a Woolf Fisher Fellowship for contribution to Science Education. Extensive history of personal involvement, coaching and management in cycling and hockey.

Mason Summerfield– Deputy Principal – Director of Teaching & Learning

Appointed to this position at the start of 2016, he was previously Head of the Science faculty and in senior management at Lindisfarne College.  His teaching background includes Agricultural and Horticultural Science / Biology / Science.  His academic credentials are BSc from Lincoln University and Dip Tchg from the Christchurch College of Education.

Adam Gordon – Deputy Principal – Head of Senior College

Appointed to this position at the start of 2017, he was previously Head of Music and Dean of Year 12 at Rathkeale College. His teaching background is in Music. His academic credentials are MA from Oxford University and PGCE from King Alfred’s College, Winchester. He is also an Associate of the Royal College of Organists.
